The American Veterinary Medical Law Association will hold its 17th Annual Continuing Education Program on Saturday. Leaders in the fi eld of veterinary medical law will cover these topics: veterinary licensure defense, representing zoo veterinarians, veterinary professionalism, operating veterinary practices, recent legislation, and veterinary practice sales. Registration is open to all. The fee for non-AVMLA members is $150, for non-member students, $50. IVAPM Annual Meeting and Symposium

The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM) is an interdisciplinary veterinary organization dedicated to improving the identification, prevention, and relief of pain in animals. The IVAPM membership is inclusive of primary care veterinarians and their veterinary nurses, as well as people from all walks of life with an interest in the management of animal pain. As the organization matures, subsets will be created to accommodate the varying needs of different constituencies. Ultimately, the IVAPM will be a certifying body that offers variable levels of certification depending upon individual credentials. The IVAPM’s annual meeting includes the general membership meeting, as well as pain-management CE (for the list of topics, see the Sunday and Monday schedules).
 

 

Greyhound Racing Regulatory Veterinarians

GreyVets is a private, invitation-only group of greyhound racing regulatory veterinarians who discuss issues pertinent to the industry. Participants work for state racing commissions, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of racing greyhounds individually as well as in kennel environments. They also ensure the sport’s integrity by procuring urine samples from race dogs for forensic testing.

Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM) is offering a choice of two afternoon seminars: "Veterinary Service Delivery in the Developing World " and "Leadership in Private Practice" on Friday, August 27th, immediately preceding CVC in Kansas City. Speakers include Dr. Paul Kline of Veterinary Training Concepts speaking on Leadership in Private Practice and Drs. Val Shean, Fred Van Gorkom, Brad Frye, Karen Stoufer and others on the Role of the Veterinarian in Veterinary Service Delivery in the Developing World.

Transportation is provided to and from the Marriott Hotel and registration fees includes a box lunch and dinner following the seminars. Registration is required and available on the CVM website,
